Dead-enders

After catching a few minutes of Coronation Street by proxy last night i noticed that the soap producers have wheeled out Craig Charles, another cheeky chappie comedian/actor to "spice up" the show and boost the ratings. Since Eastenders gave us Shane Richie in the guise of Alfie Moon the other soaps have been playing the comedian catch up. Corrie has only so far managed to bring on Bradley Walsh as their comedy "wild card" but at least Eastenders has the decency to make Shane Ritchie into a simpering wet-gel wearing twit - and not be too serious about the whole thing. Maybe they realised that it was all getting too depressing and tried to stop their viewers rushing to drink bleach as soon as they heard the opening bars of the theme tune. About time. I expect Emmerdale to roll out Keith Harris and Orville any time soon...

We had a cable for a year or so then gave it up when we moved and hardly watch any actual broadcasts these days. The TV is just a screen attached to the DVD player 'cos pretty much everything on the box is absolute shit, Corrie included.

And I can't believe I ever used to watch Dead Enders what a depressing pile of steaming crap!!

Just to rant a little bit more, how many DVD rentals do you actually watch all the way through? I reckon a about half of ours get switched off after twenty minutes

If i think about it - there is actually nothing on the TV that i like to watch any more.
I can pretty much do without it i think. Although the sofa does tend to suck you down so you can't move from watching crap. And after a whole days computing, i really don't want to play on my PC that much.

Maybe i should start reading.
I keep seeing these blogs where people are announcing the last book they read. I hate to admit that i cannot remember what mine was!

Do comics count?

I almost never read now. I used to read on the train and tube and get through loads. Now I'll read a book or two on holiday and that's about it.

Comics, porn and ceral packets don't count.
